Crew & Schedule Case Study

Crew & Schedule is designed to simplify and optimize the work of flight attendants by providing quick access to flight schedules, communication with colleagues and essential information.
Challenge
After working in three different airlines, I encountered various challenges such as adjusting flight attendant schedules, facilitating fast and easy communication with colleagues, and ensuring access to necessary flight information. This inspired me to create an application for flight attendants that optimizes relationships between the airline and its employees, focusing on improving efficiency and convenience in the work process.
UX - research
To create this application, I conducted a research to analyze all the main tasks performed by flight attendants. I studied the functionality and design of other flight attendant applications to understand user needs and the main problems they face. This helped me identify key user requirements and areas for improvement in my application. I started by describing all the tasks that flight attendants perform both at home and at work, including their routine duties during flights and the main challenges they encounter daily.
Additionally, we conducted a competitor analysis by examining other apps available on the AppStore at that time. I read user reviews and, based on this feedback and my experience, identified important features that were missing. We decided to incorporate these features into our app.
Wireframes
Wireframes were drawn to determine the layout of interface elements, visualize the user experience, and establish a basic structure before designing and implementing functionality. This helps improve understanding and communication throughout the development process.
The main screen features convenient widgets that allow you to instantly view all key events, the date of the next flight, unread documents, expiring certifications, and major airline news. On the schedule screen, there is an option to add events independently, such as days off or vacation.
In the flight section, you can find all detailed information: learn about the crew composition, flight peculiarities, loading information, and write a message to a colleague. Before each flight, for convenience of work and preparation, a checklist has been created. The checklist helps to go through all the necessary procedures before and after the flight.
In account, there is all the basic information about the flight attendant. Widgets are available for convenient tracking of certification and visa expiration dates. Additionally, there is an option to see the planned flight hours for the month and the total flight hours accumulated throughout their work with the airline.
In the Library section, you will find all documents of the airline, get acquainted with the latest news, find all the information about aircraft construction, work and job instructions. If necessary, you can take tests. Thanks to widgets, you can track the dates of familiarization with new documents.
